Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 February 2026
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Broca. By creating an account or using any part of the platform you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Broca.
1. About Broca
Broca (broca.in) is an online platform that connects patients with licensed medical doctors for remote questions sessions and consultations. Broca is operated as a private service and is currently available to users located in India.
Broca is a clarification and guidance service only. It is not a replacement for in-person emergency care, physical examination, diagnostic testing, or ongoing treatment by your primary physician. Always call emergency services (112) or visit the nearest hospital for life-threatening situations.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to register as a patient. Minors may only use the platform when a parent or legal guardian registers and manages the account.
- You must provide accurate, truthful registration information. Broca reserves the right to terminate accounts where false information is detected.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Services Provided
Broca offers two types of consultations:
- Questions Session: A focused remote session in which a patient asks follow-up questions about a prior consultation, prescription, or diagnostic report. The session does not constitute a new clinical examination.
- Full Consultation: A more comprehensive remote session in which the patient submits their medical context, reports, and concerns in advance. The doctor reviews this information and conducts a video call to provide guidance.
Consultations are conducted over encrypted video calls. Doctors on the Broca platform are independently verified medical professionals; however, Broca does not employ doctors directly. Doctors are responsible for the accuracy of their own advice.
4. Medical Disclaimer
Important — Please Read Carefully
- Information and advice provided through Broca is for general guidance only and does not constitute a formal diagnosis, prescription, or medical record.
- Broca doctors cannot physically examine you. Advice is based solely on information you provide.
- Do not use Broca for emergencies, mental health crises, chest pain, difficulty breathing, or any situation requiring immediate physical care.
- Always consult your in-person doctor before starting, stopping, or changing any medication.
5. User Responsibilities
When using Broca, you agree to:
- Provide complete and accurate information about your medical history and current symptoms.
- Not misuse the platform to solicit prescriptions for controlled substances or to circumvent local healthcare regulations.
- Not record, share, or publish any consultation session without the express written consent of all parties.
- Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
- Keep your private encryption key secure. Broca operates a zero-knowledge architecture — your private key is generated in your browser and we cannot recover it on your behalf.
6. Encryption & Security
Broca employs RSA-4096 key pairs and AES-256-GCM encryption to protect your medical data in transit and at rest. Your private key is generated locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers. While we take commercially reasonable steps to protect your data, no system is completely immune to breach, and you use the platform at your own risk.
7. Payments & Refunds
Fees for consultations are displayed before booking. All payments are processed through our third-party payment provider. Refunds may be issued at Broca's discretion in the following circumstances:
- The doctor did not attend the scheduled session.
- A verified technical failure on our platform prevented the session from occurring.
Refunds are not issued for sessions completed, even partially. To request a refund, contact support@broca.in within 48 hours of the session.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on Broca — including the platform design, logo, text, and software — is the property of Broca and is protected by applicable Indian and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the platform without prior written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Broca and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, including but not limited to damages resulting from medical advice provided during consultations. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific session giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
Broca may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users or to the platform. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. By using Broca, you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 7 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
